Spring is here....

Ahhh....you can see the yard. It's definitely not grass, but I'll take it over the piles and piles of white stuff we have had constantly since November. The boys went out to play some catch on Monday afternoon. It was so great to see a baseball and realize spring is here, and I have a song from a "Little Bill" episode in my head "Spring is here, Spring is here, it's the best time of the year..." I'm sure someone out there knows exactly the one I'm talking about. All I have to say is yeah SPRING!
...................................oh yeah and look at my hubby's cute little butt! heeheehee

Is This Too Much Chapstick?

This should have been my first indication to dispose of this gift from the Easter Bunny. This chapstick went on a little dark. But then again hindsight is 20/20. Monday afternoon Cale says to me "I don't know whats on the carpet, and I didn't do it."
And that is the end of the chapstick.....the Easter Bunny definitely did not think this one through.

Easter Fun!

Establishing The Game Plan
Let's Go!
I Think I Am The Winner!

We went to church Sunday morning, and of course, Pastor Josh had an amazing message for Easter. I am even more excited for his new sermon series that is coming up. You need to check out his blog for a sample of whats to come. He absolutely cracks me up! Sunday after church we went to Stuart to my mom's house for lunch. Ashlin went along with us, so there were 3 of the 4 grand kids present. My mom absolutely kills me she has so much candy you would think that the whole town was coming. It was fun to watch the 3 of them go after the candy, I definitely think Cale got the short end of it. Not much of a chance when your 3 competing against a 18 year old and an 8 1/2 year old. We had a great lunch and it was nice to hang out at mom's. Her new house is really nice and I'm so happy for her.

Happy Easter!

Sunday is Easter, so earlier this week Shawn and I took the boys out to Valley West Mall to visit the Easter Bunny. I picked out their shirts and Cale had plenty to say about the fact that he was wearing a pink shirt. While Colby who has become quite the fashionista lately, loved it. I thought they looked nice and very springy, which I am more than ready for. Cale wanted to ride in the train and I thought his brother would want no part being the macho man that he is but he climbed aboard. I had to take a picture this probably the last time he will want to take a ride. Happy Easter everyone!

Congrats to Kelly & Dave...well not yet....

My sister Kelly is expecting in August. It will be her first, and I'm so excited for her. They went to the doctor this morning and found out they are expecting a girl. Which makes me even more excited. But also like what in the world! Now both of my sisters will have girls, but none for me... I guess I will have to spoil this new sweet baby. Her name is going to be Taylor (sp) Ann.

Congrats Kelly & Dave!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well what a week (or so) its been since I last posted. Colby started Spring Break on Friday and he is off this entire week also. Today is St. Patrick's Day so our plan as we always do, was to head downtown to the parade, but this wonderful Iowa weather didn't cooperate. Rain, rain, rain. So we opted for a movie instead. Today we went to Billy Joe's Pitcher Show, which we love to do, and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks (for the second time, still very cute!) On Friday we went to Jordan Creek movie theater and saw Horton Hears a Who, very cute! Tomorrow we are headed to Backyard Adventures for Mom's Group, what a great place for kids to run off some much needed energy. Colby has been trying to track down a friend or two to come over, but we are finding that he is the most deprived child ever and we are the ONLY people in West Des Moines that are not traveling. Even Ana is gone to Monga's for part of the week, now he is really beside himself. Poor guy!

Looking For Volunteers!

Okay so everyone that reads my blog knows that we have been participating in a church wide fast. We have doing the Daniel Fast and it has been amazing. I'm glad that we decided to do it, and we haven't missed a beat. Its amazing how much closer I can say I feel to God, I've spent a lot more time praying. I've also stepped outside of my comfort zone with food choices. Sunday ends the 21 day fast with communion at church, then foodcourt fellowship. Amy brought up a very good point yesterday and really made me think about what my choice may be for lunch on Sunday. I was thinking like the biggest bacon cheeseburger I could find but she's right my body would probably not appreciate that at all.

But back to my reason for this post--today for lunch Cale wanted pizza, and let me tell you it about killed me! 4 huge slices of pizza this boy mowed down, and it got me thinking....Happy Joe's!

Anyone want to join me for a pizza lunch on Monday?

Fun at the Drake game!

Saturday afternoon Shawn and I took the boys to the Drake game. It was a lot of fun. Drake has had a rockin season and ended there home season on a good note with a win.
This is a picture of my little one before the game started, and I do have to say he is one cute boy. Of course that is too be expected I think he looks just like his father and look how cute he is.
I could not resist this second picture. This girl walked by us and I did a double take, her belly looked so round I thought it was a piece of rubber. When I saw her coming again I discreetly angled my camera to get shot. It was real, you could see her belly button. So cute of course I could have never pulled this off my whole body was round.
Good Saturday fun, even though we had to sit through the boys eating all the yummy game food, while we ate raisins, cashews and water. mmm!
