Goose Bumps!

I meant to do a post yesterday after we got home from church. Okay so here is the deal, since Shawn and I have been together we have been saying we have got to start going to church-always a reason here or there something always came up BUT .....a few months ago Shawn and I were driving around on a Friday afternoon, we were listening to talk radio (which we usually do) on this particular day on Mac's World they were doing View from the Pew, we listened to this Pastor talk and both decided it definitely sounded like a fit for our family. So every since then we have been going to Jordan Creek Family Church. We all love it- BUT- the first three times we went and now again this week Pastor Josh has totally freaked us out. We will have discussed something (just the two of us) and next thing you know it is part of his sermon that day. So I have decided either they are bugging all new members or it is just God showing us how it really works. FREAKY!

My boy is growing up so fast......

I was so proud of Colby on Saturday at the tae kwon do tournament. On the way there he said "Mom my stomach hurts really bad" I told him your probably just nervous, you'll do great. He did just that. He went out and gave it his all. In the forms competition he tied with two others for 3rd place, in the sparring competition they didn't keep points, but it was really good experience for him. Since it was only his third time ever sparring, we were pretty impressed with his skills. Last night in his class, he put forth more effort and really worked hard on the new moves they were learning. He is growing up so fast, I can't believe how time flies. He will be 8 in August and he surprises us everyday with his abilities and talents.

New Pictures

Just wanted to tell everyone that I just added some new pictures of the boys and Princess Maggie, they are posted over to the left. Take a look :)

busy....busy...busy

What a weekend we have-tonight is opening ceromonies for baseball, they do a little parade of teams, present the flag, etc. Then serve dinner to all of the teams and families at the ball field afterwards. Tomorrow morning at 11:00 Colby has a taekwondo tournament, it will be the first he's competed in, I am so excited for him. It involves all the Farrell's schools so he will get to compete against kids his age from the different locations. We paid an entry fee and they are giving all the proceeds to KZZQ, which I think is a great radio station. At 1:30 he has a baseball game, its always fun to watch them but especially the first couple of games when its not all quite together since they are only 7 you never know what they are going to do.The weather is supposed to be beautiful on Saturday so I'm looking forward to the warm weather and good baseball.
We are also scheduled to have a game Sunday morning at 10:30, still not sure about that one. The other team wants to reschedule which would be totally fine with our team. So we'll see.

Spring-it's finally here!!

Hard to believe that two weeks ago today it was snowing, I guess thats why we love Iowa, you never know what you'll get. We have had some beautiful days this week, woohoo! Sunday after church I spent the entire afternoon cleaning out the toy room. My results-a van full to take to GOODWILL and four big boxes of toys for Pastor Lori and the nursery at church. Of course we know that my son won't be playing with them there-since the mere mention of "nursery" sends him into hysterics, but hopefully the other little ones will enjoy them. Monday night I cleaned out my rose bed, and Tuesday I even bought some flowers and got them planted Tuesday night. Sounds like we are in for more nice weather over the weekend, good thing since its opening weekend for baseball. I can't wait!
Shawn has been swamped at work-a good thing-but Cale and I spent some of this afternoon helping him put together some sales documentation for a new sales rep and after I pick up Colby from school we need to go back and take care of some more. Things are really starting roll in the right direction with the business and we are counting our blessings. Its been a lot of hard work for Shawn and I'm really proud of what he has been accomplishing.

Date Night....not with Kenny Chesney but it'll do :)

Last night our GREAT neighbor Michele offered to watch the boys so we could go out. Even though I am still not feeling 100% I wasn't about to pass up the opportunity! Sheila (Shawn's sister) and her husband Brad went with us. We went to Bravo for dinner, it was very nice, luckily Sheila thought to call earlier in the day for reservations so we didn't have to wait. We got a table that was right next to the lake (or pond??) it was nice. It was nice to be able to sit and have a nice conversation, with grown ups! Then we went over to the mall to see a movie, we saw Blades of Glory. It was really funny, Shawn was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to get sick and I was hoping that I wouldn't have a coughing fit during the movie. It was absolutely packed, I don't think there was an open seat. We got home around 10, I tell ya we are wild and crazy. Michele had both the boys in bed and was folding laundry. Doesn't get much better than that. Her dryer has been broken for awhile so she's been bringing laundry over to our house occasionally. It sounded like they had a great time. I was glad to hear that since Cale has been having such an anxiety issue about me being gone lately. Although she totally spoils them, I guess since both her kids are away at college she has to get that little kid fix somewhere.
Anyways last night was also the Kenny Chesney concert here in Des Moines, which I did not go to. I just couldn't do it, I kept thinking buy the tickets but they were sooooo expensive and by the time I thought ok I'll do it the seats were crappy and I thought I would be better off to listen to his cd in my kitchen. He does put on a good show we saw him at the fair-Colby loved it. Thanks again to Michele, sometimes I'm not sure where we'd be without her.

Happy Birthday Pastor Lori!

Today is Pastor Lori's birthday, she is the children's pastor at our church. She is so great with the kids. Even though we have only been with the church for a short time she has totally welcomed our family with open arms. Colby loves his time with her in "Creek Kids" and I am counting down to when Cale can join her too. She has such a way with the kids. The picture above is from the Easter Egg hunt last weekend, it was incredible. She definitely poured her heart and soul into it. So to Pastor Lori HAPPY BIRTHDAY, we hope you have a wonderful day, you deserve every bit of it.

Spring Has Definitely Not Sprung...

I cannot believe that I actually had to cancel baseball practice due to snow. Come on its April 11. Cale and I went to storytime at the library, he is so funny. I wish I had a hidden video camera to catch him. He sings louder than any of the other kids. So different than Colby ever was. It amazes me everyday how different the two of them are. Since Colby didn't have baseball tonight we went to Tae Kwon Do. There are classes available every night but it seems like the nights when we don't have baseball there are always after 7. That makes it hard to get him unwound and settled for bed.
I posted some pictures of Easter with the Adair's, we had a great time!
Here's to hoping we have sun tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer...

Time to stop procrastinating...

Okay so for the past three weeks I have been signed up for this new blog account. I've been reading some friends and think it is an absolutely great idea to keep friends and family updated on day to day goings on. I just can't seem to do it.

Since Saturday night I've been feeling under the weather, could be this totally unspring like weather we've been having. Saturday night as I was cleaning the house preparing for my family to come for Easter lunch I noticed my voice was in and out. Well its been almost completely gone since Sunday evening. I went to the doc today and sure enough I have a sinus infection. Hopefully by tomorrow morning I will be feeling much better. However Colby seems to be enjoying the fact that he really can't hear me and Cale keeps saying what you say Mom.

Despite of not feeling well we had a great Easter. Saturday morning we had an Easter Egg hunt with the church. It was absolutely FREEZING! Sunday morning we had church and then lunch at our house with my mom, sister Kelly, and nieces- Ashlin and Ayrin. It was a small group but thats ok, we still had a nice time.

Okay that wasn't so bad...the first post down.
