My hubby....

I wanted to blog a sec about my wonderful hubby. We were talking a couple nights ago about the fact that we are going to celebrate our 10th anniversary on October 18. Its still a few months off but I think we'll make it. It really has floored me that so much time has passed since we got married. In one way it seems like it should be longer (I mean that in a good way) but then I am like WOW 10 years is a really long time.
He has been extremely busy in the last few months, his company has been growing at a phenomenal rate. It is absolutely incredible, and I am so proud of all his hard work. This picture was taken on Saturday at Colby's baseball game, Shawn is the head coach and is so good with all the boys on the team. You can only imagine the patience he has to have to deal with twelve 7 year old boys. He is great. I am so thankful to have him in my life.......

Goodbye Tucker...we will miss you

I forgot to share the news about Tucker (our turtle)-last Monday Colby and I completely forgot to take him to school, then Tuesday it was pouring down rain so I talked Colby into waiting until Wednesday to take him. So Wednesday morning I go out onto the deck to get him ready and look into his "house" and he is gone. Needless to say Colby did not take it well, after a lot of tears he composed himself enough to get ready for school. It was so sad and I felt really bad for him. Tucker could not have climbed out of his house, I said maybe a bird took him, but after some more thinking (to myself) I remembered that Maggie was outside for a really long time Tuesday night so I am wondering if she was the culprit-bad dog-bad dog.

Happy Birthday to meeeee....I'm 33....

Kind of has a ring to it huh? I celebrated my birthday on Saturday-it was the big 33. My boys got me beautiful pink roses, slippers, and took me shopping for some new clothes, it was great. It was a beautiful day and we had a baseball game at 9 that morning. When I got home, there was a HAPPY BIRTHDAY sign hanging in the kitchen and a birthday balloon, as well as two gifts(woohoo) and a note from my neighbor girl saying she made me a cake, it was in the freezer and would be ready after 2:30. My neighbor Michele and her daughter, Sarah were responsible (thanks again) they game me some perfume from Victoria Secret and a beautiful framed cross by Isabel Bloom about FAITH. The cake Sarah made was from the new Kraft magazine that came in the mail last week, it was ice cream...yummy. Soon after that Cole and April came by(more neighbors) she came with two birthday cards and a butter white cake-which is the best. Saturday afternoon I went to the church office to practice for the Buzz, they needed a fill in actress for the day and apparently I'm the closest they could find..hahahaha. After that Brad, Sheila, Cole, April, Shorty, Barb, Dave, Shawn and I met for dinner at El Rodeo. They gave me a very generous gift card to Jordan Creek )woohoo! I got to wear the sombrero, you know the one-that has been on a million other heads! Then almost all of us headed to the Funny Bone for some laughs. We had a great time. We were home by 10-because we are soooo crazy. Everyone came over for cake-Brad also brought me a homemade from scratch two layer chocolate cake, frosted in carmel. So now the cake count is at THREE! Michele watched the boys, she took them to Culvers for dinner and to see Shrek 3. It is so nice to have someone that takes care of my boys with such love. I cannot believe how blessed my life is.

The newest member of the Adair's, Mr.Tucker

Shawn had his annual alumni golf outing on Saturday. As he approached the green on hole 8, he saw a little friend. Cale has taken quite a liking to him (actually a little too much) and today Maggie May had him in her mouth. Oops....

He is a snapping turtle so his stay with us will be a short one, but for the time being he is a member of our family and his name is Tucker. He isn't much bigger than the size of a half dollar, so for now the only thing he's snapping at is worms....

1,2,3 Strikes Your Out!

Friday night the four of us went to the I-Cubs game. Colby's school had a fundraiser and sold tickets for the night. It was quite a deal, the tickets were $5 and the school got to keep $3 of it. We stayed through the whole game, it was a beautiful evening, the Cubs won and despite the fact that Cale had quite a big day and little nap he was very well behaved. We walked to the parking lot just in time to sit on the tailgate of the truck to see the fireworks, and it was a great show.

Can you tell me how to get...

Friday morning Cale and I went to Sesame Street Live, downtown at Wells Fargo Arena. We had great seats and he had so much fun. Singing, dancing and (his favorite thing) eating!

Baseball, Fun, Friends & Family!

I have been horrible about blogging the last week. We have been swamped with activities. Our days and nights filled with fun.

Monday night I went to Girls Night Out at Amy Main's we put together WELCOME baskets for Ruth Harbor, we had great fun and the baskets turned out really nice.

Tuesday morning we went to Mom's Group at the park, Cale had fun playing with the other kids.

Tuesday night Colby had a ballgame and had quite a cheering section there. Pastor Lori came and brought Colin and Awnna along, my sister Kim and her two girls Ashlin and Ayrin were there along with Ashlin's friend Anna. Shawn's Dad "Shorty", Shawn's sister Sheila and her hubby Brad were there too. Plus me, Shawn and Cale. It was quite a group! He played great and their team was really into the big crowd that was there that night (there is usually just a few of us).

Cinco De Mayo

Colby had a baseball game at noon today, and I tell you what that other coach needed to get a grip, woo-E, was he intense. If my husband was not the coach and Colby had to be on that guys team I think I would have made Colby quit. You know at 7 years old, they need to be learning the basics, and having FUN! This guy was yelling at them, I wanted to run out on the field and sit him down and stand over him so I looked like a giant. and yell at him. One of the other moms from our team said he has an older boy who plays and he's (the DAD) has been thrown out of a couple games for this behavior. Unbelievable, maybe instead of yelling at him I should have run out there and gave him a big old hug, maybe that's what he really needs.

Tonight we went to dinner at El Rodeo with some friends, I really thought it would be packed due to Cinco De Mayo, but it wasn't too bad. There were 8 of us and we got right in, can't say that about many places on a Saturday night. Plus the food is soooooooooooo good. Cale had two tacos and wanted more, that boy would eat tacos for every meal. Definitely a child after his mothers heart. Happy Cinco De Mayo to all, to me any excuse to eat mexican is a good one. :)

Uh Oh! Gotta Go!

Just got back from baseball practice and I guess you could say there was something in the air...or make that trees. One of the coaches older sons was helping out tonight and decided he had to GO, so off he went to the trees. Then it was like a chain reaction, the boys from the team slowly one after another. Gotta love the great outdoors, lucky they are boys and have it so easy. My son even tried to leave twice. 7 year olds gotta love 'em!

May Day-A day of mixed emotions....

Yesterday was one of those days, when I awoke immediately realized that is was May 1. I lost a dear friend years ago and when I stopped to count I realized that he has been gone for 14 years. It is still amazing to me how a memory can take you right back to that day. I realize how different my live is today and how it has truly made me live for what we have because there is no promise of tomorrow.
Some friends from church are dealing with this in the present and I truly feel for them, this afternoon I stopped by to take some food to them and tried to let them know that we are here and we care. At a time like this its really all you can do.

May Day

Yesterday was May Day, so the boys and I spent sometime delivering May baskets to some friends during the afternoon. They had great fun and Colby loved to see how fast he could run. I think when I was little it was a tradition that if you got caught you got kissed but since I have two boys it seems like we delivered to mostly boys too. We did take a few to some friends we have met from church, but sadly I don't know where a lot of them live yet so I did mapquest to find some and decided it was kind of silly to drive too far to deliver popcorn and other treats. Hopefully as the weather gets nicer we can all get together for picnics and fun. Last night I baked brownies for some neighborhood friends (without kids) and had Colby run those as May baskets too. We had so much fun!
